Clinics and doctors are using telemedicine more frequently to limit the number of in-person patients, in order to comply with social distancing and give their patients peace of mind.

The American public was initially slow to accept telemedicine for medical consultations, however, after Covid-19, telemedicine is being widely accepted in the USA.

Clinics and hospitals have had to rethink their equipment use and staffing to be able to combat not only Covid-19 but people suffering from other serious illnesses. And for those patients who do not need emergency procedures (elective surgeries), they have been asked to postpone or reschedule when medically prudent.

Today, due to Covid-19, we have to take the greatest precautions in the care of ourselves and our loved ones and do everything possible to distance ourselves socially. If it is necessary to visit the doctor, telemedicine makes perfect sense.

Members of Makina Benefits have access to Teladoc which often costs less than a traditional visit to the doctor’s office or an emergency clinic. Click here to find out how.
